Admission
Process
- Applicant and both parents must be non-Korean citizens. If the parents of the applicant have been divorced, remarried, or deceased, he/she has to submit additional documents such as birth certificate or etc. Furthermore, if the nationality and the relationship of the parents cannot be confirmed, the applicant may not be eligible to apply.
Eligibility
- Nationality Requirement
- Applicants and his/her both parents must be non-Korean citizen and must meet all of the following conditions :
- a) Nationality criterion is evidenced on the date of application submission
- b) If an applicant or parent abandons their Korean citizenship, the applicant must submit proof of denationalization(loss of nationality).
- c) If an applicant is legally a family with only one parent, the nationality of the corresponding parent shall be considered for the application qualification.(whilst the qualification should be identified by a government document)
- Academic Requirement
- Applicant must have completed or expects to complete primary and secondary education at the time of application. Vocational Schools and Secondary Specialized Schools are included.
- Language Proficiency
- Applicants must meet one of the following conditions
- Obtained S-TOPIK Level 3 or above
- Enrolled and completed Level 4 (Intermediate 2) IIE/ ILCE, KHU
- Passed Level 3 of the KHU Korean Language Test

Exceptions : Applicants for the English Track or the Department of International Studies are exempt from the Korean language requirements, but must have obtained a minimum score of TOEFL iBT 71(CBT 197, PBT530), IELTS score of 5.5 or a TEPS score of 600 or above. Students from states where English is an official language are also exempted from this requirement.

Admitted students without TOPIK Level 4 scores are obliged to take Korean class(6 credits) for the first semester.

If the student fails to obtain a test score by the end of the first semester, they must take an additional Korean class
(6 credits) for the second semester - English Track and Department of International Studies applicants are exempted from this requirement

- Academic Requirement
- Applicant must meet one of the following conditions
- Was enrolled in a 4 year university for more than 4 semesters (excluding summer and winter terms)
- Was enrolled in a 2~3 year community colleges either internationally or domestically and received or is expected to receive a degree

Must have registered and completed sophomore year based on the definition of the enrolled university and earned required credits.
If transferring from an overseas institution (4 year university), the students must have completed at least 1/2 of the credits required for graduation.
Graduates of Chinese Institutes must submit academic verification from the โChina Academic Degrees & Graduate Education Development Centerโ which states that the diploma holder is able to continue their study in senior years of undergraduate program for a Bachelorโs degree.
- Majors
- Below department will limit applications based on studentsโ major at the previous institution.
- Department of Chemistry, Seoul Campus: must have had a major in chemistry at a domestic university previously
- Department of Food and Nutrition, Seoul campus: must have had a major in Food and Nutrition or studied in related natural science major at the previous institution
- Language Proficiency
- Applicants must meet one of the following conditions
- Obtained TOPIK Level 4 or above
- Passed Level 4 of the KHU Korean Language Test

- Second Intake Korean Language Test: June 21, 2014(Sat)

- KHU students, whether enrolled or on a leave of absence, may not apply for transfer
- Summer courses and credits will not be included, except for those in the graduating class
- Korean citizens, including dual citizenship of applicant and both parents
